(01) A ride with BromRoute

  1. 01 / 06

    Only roads you're allowed on

No motorways, no expressways, no cycle paths you may not use. On a moped you do take the moped path where it's compulsory; on a light moped you follow the cycle paths.

  2. 02 / 06

    Travel times that add up

BromRoute uses the speed that applies to you on each road: 45 where a car may go 50, and slower on a 30 street. So your arrival time is a moped's, not a car's.

  3. 03 / 06

    Bridges, ferries, closures

Road closures from NDW, bridge openings and ferry departures are part of the route and your arrival time. Spot a closed road yourself? Report it in the app, no account needed.

  4. 04 / 06

    Told in time

Voice guidance tells you where to go, so you can keep your eyes on the road. Your speed and the speed limit are always on screen.

  5. 05 / 06

    Honest about doubt

Not sure you're allowed on a road? Then that stretch turns orange, and you hear about it before you get there. Check the signs.

  6. 06 / 06

    You've arrived.

This app can't give you a legal guarantee, and its data may be out of date or wrong. Always follow road signs.

(02) Two vehicles

Pick what you ride in the app. BromRoute then works with the rules and speeds for your vehicle, scooters included.

(03) Features

More than from A to B.

Round trips made with AI, routes from other riders, home watching you arrive. Everything still only on roads you're allowed on.

PRO1 free to try, with an account

Make your own route with AI

Say what you fancy, like “an hour along the water”. Choose a round trip or a destination, how far (10 to 120 km), themes such as water, dykes, windmills or bridges, and what to avoid. The AI picks the nice places; our planner lays the route, only on roads you're allowed on.

  • Shorter, longer or another variant without using a new AI route
  • The AI gets your text, never your location
  • With PRO: 30 AI routes a month

FreeDiscovering needs no account

Beautiful round trips nearby

Discover routes from other riders within 30 km: nearby, popular or new. Filter by length and theme, and ride one straight away. BromRoute replans it for your vehicle, with today's closures. Ridden a great route yourself? Share it with the community, under your name or anonymously.

  • For others, your route starts and ends at a public place nearby, never at your home
  • Share a route as a link, or export it as GPX
  • Something wrong or unsafe? Anyone can report a route

PRONo app needed at home

Home sees when you'll arrive

Tap the share button while riding and send the link. Family and friends follow you in any browser: your route, where you are, your speed and what time you'll arrive. When you get there, it stops by itself.

  • Your position updates every 5 seconds
  • The link stops working an hour after you arrive
  • Your position is only kept in memory during the ride, never stored

PROMoped 45

Faster, quieter, or balanced

Choose what kind of roads your route prefers. Every option still counts turns, traffic lights, poor road surface and speed bumps, and none leaves the roads you're allowed on.

The default: no kind of street counts more heavily than another.

PROMap and routing

Also without internet

Download the map and the road network around your home: 10, 25 or 40 km. Out of signal you can still search by street name, plan a route and get rerouted when you take a wrong turn. BromRoute switches over by itself.

Closures, ferries, bridge openings, alternatives and AI routes do need internet.

PROOnly on your phone

Your rides, kept

After every ride you see where you went, how far, how long and how fast on average, with a sketch of the route. Your totals are at the top. Measured from your real GPS track, so the numbers are what you actually rode.

  • Your rides are only kept on this phone
  • Delete one ride or all of them
  • Your last 200 rides

Also handy

  • Stops and fuel

Up to five stops on the way. Petrol stations along your route, with how far you'd ride out of your way.

  • Alternatives

Fastest or recommended, and labels such as “no N roads” so you see the difference at a glance.

  • Ferries and bridges

Ferry departures, waiting and crossing times, and bridge openings in your arrival time. Or avoid ferries altogether.

  • Report a closure

Road closed? Report it for today, three days or a week, no account needed. Once three people report it, it's closed for everyone.

  • Avoid a road

A street you never want to ride? BromRoute leaves it out of your routes.

  • Walk short bits

Where riding is forbidden for a short stretch, the route can have you push your moped.

  • Your own colour

Pick one of six colours for your route line and arrow (PRO).

  • Light, dark, Dutch, English

Follows your phone, or choose for yourself. The app speaks Dutch and English.

  • Your location stays yours

Only to plan a route do your start and destination go to our server, and they aren't kept there.

The app, screen by screen

(05) FAQ

Good to know.

Is BromRoute free?

Yes. Planning, navigating and riding other people's round trips is free. BromRoute PRO adds extras such as sharing your ride live, offline maps, your ride history and making routes with AI.

When can I download BromRoute?

BromRoute is coming to the App Store and Google Play soon. Want to hear when it's out? Email info@recurogroup.nl.

Which vehicles is BromRoute for?

For mopeds and scooters with a yellow number plate (45 km/h) and light mopeds and scooters with a blue number plate (25 km/h). You choose your vehicle in the app, and BromRoute uses the rules that apply to it.

Can I trust the route blindly?

No. The app can't give you a legal guarantee, and its data may be out of date or wrong. Always follow road signs. Where BromRoute isn't sure you may ride somewhere, it tells you.

Do I need an account?

Not to plan, navigate or discover round trips. To share and like routes, and for your free AI route, you make a free account. PRO needs an account too.

How does sharing my ride live work?

With PRO you tap the share button while riding and send a link. People at home follow you in their browser, without the app: your route, where you are, your speed and when you'll arrive. The link stops working an hour after you arrive, and your position isn't stored anywhere.

Does BromRoute work without internet?

With PRO you download the map and the road network around your home: 10, 25 or 40 km. Without signal you can still search, plan a route and get rerouted. Closures, ferries, bridge openings and AI routes do need internet.

What does the AI do with my data?

The AI only gets your text and your choices, never your location or address, and your request isn't stored. The AI picks nice places; our planner lays the route, only on roads you're allowed on.

What happens to my location?

Your location stays on your phone. Only to plan a route do your start and destination go to our server, and they aren't kept there. Saved places and your ride history are only kept on your phone. More in the privacy statement.
